A fef can be any number of things. In the case that I used it, it is synonmyous to “facehead” or other like terms. In other words, it is making fun of someone of whom not enough is known to make fun of another person without knowing anything about them. For example, had I said, “You have an ugly nose,” that would be unfair, since I have never actually seen your nose. “Facehead,” by the way, means “one with a face on his head.”
Fef can also used in entirely different ways, while still meaning nothing. For example, “What the fef?” is a commonly used phrase, meaning “Hello I just said something, everyone listen to me because I want to draw attention because you don’t know what fef means.”
One final example involves the use of fef as a verb. “I’m going to fef you up, you feffing punk” Means “um, I’m going to do something to you” The only way to determine what exactly the meaning of fef is in this situation is to derive it from sentence context, taking note of the tone of voice and other factors. For example if fef notice is used sarcastically it changes the context significantly.
For you Brits out there, the preferred term is “fom.” This term can be used any way in which fef is used above, but sounds much better with a British accent. In addition to this, the term “moftaht” can be added. You can understand more of its reading by turning your head upside down and spewing out random syllables. Actually, just read it backwards. You’ll get it.
